Ugly messing around

I think it's interesting when you put something together and think it looks ok. Then you take a picture of it and you see what needs to be moved around and where and even if it looks ok.

I have been trying to use up my stash and a friend lent me her accuquilt, so I spent time cutting up 6" sqares for a donation quilt. Wow, I need to fix this, cut more fabric and then try again color wise. I really really want to use up my stash and believe it or not, it is taking a longer time then I thought it would. Of course, i work a full time job and have a very active social life. I am going to fix this, this week and post more pics.

If you take out the orange and then move it to another top, and add a few more lights, I think you may like it much more! Sometimes as I've found there are all sorts of colors and types of fabrics and some just don't mix like we think they should.

I am always amazed when I put random stuff together and it acutally turns out looking good!

Yours looks good, actually! LOL.

After I posted, I thought, "what are you doing--she didn't ask for suggestions!" Man, I really can but in there. I'm sure after you look at it awhile, something will come into your head. It always happens when you "sit" with things awhile! Good luck.

Pattilou: I was NOT the least insulted, as a matter of fact, I like all suggestions and comments. Please keep them coming!

Another suggestion: Instead of randomly placing the fabrics, try lining them up in diagonal rows. The orange squares could be the centermost diagonal row or you could use them in two rows away on each side of the centermost row.
